4cost as sponsor and exhibitor at AGRITECH 2023
On 13 and 14 September, the AGRITECH Supplier Summit took place in Augsburg for the fourth time. On site, renowned companies from the agricultural industry presented solutions, innovations and ideas for the digital transformation of agriculture. With over 310 participants, 55 speakers and 41 exhibitors, this year’s event was the largest to date for the organiser and host, the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management in cooperation with AGCO.
4cost GmbH once again sponsored the event and provided an on-site insight into its extensive portfolio of costing solutions. “Digital transformation needs smart solutions that keep their promises. Our costing software gives manufacturers of agricultural machinery a valuable tool to achieve maximum cost transparency in every project phase,” says Joachim Schöffer, managing partner of 4cost GmbH. “With our software, all aspects of product costing from development to production, operation and disposal can be simulated, analysed and easily compared with each other using different scenarios. Thereby ensuring that products are both profitable and of high customer value.”

During the two-day summit, numerous keynotes, discussion panels and workshops with representatives of international industrial companies took place. Among others, the following topics were in focus: The factory of the future, sustainability in the agricultural industry, requirements and implementation of the supply chain due diligence act, women in leadership positions, use of artificial intelligence. Joachim Schöffer moderated the panel on the topic “Digital future of the agricultural technology industry”. It became clear that the industry is only at the beginning of a long journey. There are first promising approaches, especially in production, to use AI-driven digitalisation solutions. However, there are major challenges both in the development departments and in the interaction with customers and suppliers to establish digital and, if necessary, AI-driven processes.

As is tradition, the latest publication in the book series "The World is" by editors Angela Qu, Josip Tomasevic and Hajo Drees was unveiled at AGRITECH. Volume 3 "The World is Digital" is a collection of contributions that provide exciting insights into the efforts and initiatives of OEMs and suppliers in the area of digital transformation. Joachim Schöffer is represented in the book as co-author with an 18-page contribution on the topic of "Calculating ESG factors correctly with the help of AI".
We thank the organiser and all participants for the valuable exchange and look forward to seeing you again next year.
