Fast and efficient: MT Aerospace uses 4cost-aces for parametric cost calculations

To determine costs as quickly as possible when preparing quotations and to validate existing calculations, MT Aerospace uses the parametric costing software 4cost-aces.

MT Aerospace AG

MT Aerospace is a leading international aerospace company. More than 500 employees develop, manufacture and test components for institutional and commercial launch vehicle programs, for aircraft, satellites and for applications in the automotive and defence industries.

In his role as a systems engineer at MT Aerospace, Tim Wiedemann is responsible for both the development of CFRP structures and the related cost engineering. For this purpose, he works with 4cost-aces. The parametric costing software is used in various areas, including determining costs when preparing quotations, analysing and validating costs for existing projects, creating different scenarios and preparing price negotiation strategies and bid-no-bid decisions.

The use of 4cost-aces brought MT Aerospace several advantages. First and foremost, a high reaction speed from the enquiry to the first cost estimate. “Parametric costing enables us to create valid calculations in the early quotation phases with relatively little effort,” summarises Tim Wiedemann. The costing software also supports the implementation and disclosure of independent cross-check cost analyses to strengthen the company’s own negotiating position with clients.

As a particular strength of 4cost-aces, Tim Wiedemann considers the built-in databases (such as for materials, machines and labour costs) based on European data sources, that allow for precise and consistent cost calculations.
