Arnd gives an insight into his work as Head of Sales at 4cost
Why did you join 4cost and how? What have you done before?
At the beginning of 2018, I joined 4cost GmbH after many years of working as a sales representative in wholesale and retail, in off- and online start-ups as well as in globally renowned corporations. Right from the start, I was convinced by the concentrated energy and the extremely positive atmosphere that emanated from the entire team.
As a full-blooded salesperson who likes to give his customers something meaningful, I found 4cost’s business solutions to be the perfect fit for me. I am not only enthusiastic about the innovative methods, but completely convinced. I am happy to pass on this good feeling to our prospects and customers.
What are your responsibilities at 4cost? How is your daily work structured?
My role as Head of Sales at 4cost covers the entire sales processes, which are together responsible for the success of our company. One of my most important tasks is the acquisition of new customers. This extends from the first contact to the comprehensive presentation of our software and service products extending to the offer negotiation and finally the successful conclusion. The acquisition process is different for each prospective customer and therefore always remains exciting. I receive support from our experienced value engineers whose technical expertise is worth its weight in gold.
At least as important is the support of our existing customers. Variety is on the agenda here. Every customer is different and has specific needs that I always have to address in a solution-oriented manner. Everyday work involves interesting conversations, changing challenges and regular visits to customers.
As a sales manager, it is also my job to represent 4cost at trade fairs and events both in Germany and in Europe. There are often numerous opportunities to talk to decision-makers and interested parties ranging from a wide variety of industries. I am convinced that every company can benefit from cost optimisation with us. It’s important to point out the right paths.
Also of great importance is the internal exchange, e.g. with marketing, value engineering and development. Through my constant customer contact, I regularly receive valuable feedback, which I pass on to the relevant departments. This ensures the continuous further development of our extensive product portfolio in the interest of our customers.

What motivates you? What keeps you going?
I burn to crack tough nuts. Especially with demanding products like our innovative costing software, it takes a great deal of sensitivity and patience to get everyone involved on board. The best moment for me is when a prospect becomes a customer and reports new successes month after month thanks to our solutions. That is pure motivation for me.
What does 4cost mean to you?
4cost is like family. I like to compare 4cost to a multi-generational farm where everyone lends a hand – from planting seeds to harvesting. Here, everyone can contribute fully to extent the success story of 4cost.
