4cost as a sponsor and exhibitor at the AGRITECH Supplier Summit 2024
The AGRITECH Supplier Summit took place in Augsburg on 11 and 12 September 2024. For the fifth time, the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management invited leading industry representatives, innovators and experts from the agricultural machinery industry to discuss current developments and issues. The two-day programme offered an interesting mix of inspiring keynotes, interactive workshops and panel discussions. The focus was primarily on technical innovations and digital solutions.
Alongside 350+ attendees, 50+ C-level speakers and 40 exhibitors, 4cost was present as a sponsor of the summit to showcase the latest sustainability features of its proprietary costing software suite. “Later this year, we will be releasing a ground-breaking new module for our parametric calculation software 4cost-aces, which can be used to calculate CO₂ emissions along the entire product life cycle at an early stage,” says Joachim Schöffer, Managing Partner of 4cost GmbH. This allows industrial companies in all sectors to meet the legal requirements for greater transparency in the area of sustainability.
Panel discussion with Marco Esposito, Off-Highway Global Head of Product Strategy & Customer Solution Engineering, Dana; Daniele Pozzo, Head of Marketing & Product Portfolio, FPT Industrial S.p.A.; Dr. Thaddäus Baier, Co-Founder and CTO, TADUS; Joachim Schöffer, Managing Partner, 4cost GmbH
During the discussion panel “Powering the Fields”, Mr Schöffer exchanged views with high-ranking representatives from Dana, FPT Industrial and TADUS on future engines for agricultural machinery. The panellists came to the conclusion that there will not be a single engine in the medium to long term. Instead, there will be a mix of engines depending on performance and tasks, from purely electric to hybrid and classic combustion engines. Innovations are to be expected in the area of alternative fuels in particular, such as biofuels and hydrogen.
As part of this year's AGRITECH Supplier Summit, a new volume of the book series “The World is...” was published. In “The World is Agile”, Joachim Schöffer contributed a guest article entitled “How can the requirements of design, development, supply chains, costs and sustainability be reconciled?”
We would like to thank all participants, discussion partners and the organiser for an inspiring summit and look forward to participating next year.
