4cost as a sponsor at the Sustainability Congress 2022
On 20 and 21 October, the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management hosted the first Sustainability Congress at the Telekom Capital Presence, Berlin. DAX executive boards, members of the Bundestag, Hidden Champions and politicians entered into dialogue to discuss sustainability strategies for the economy. Joachim Schöffer, Managing Director of 4cost GmbH, and Sales Manager Arnd Schüller were present and exchanged ideas with representatives from industry and politics.
In addition to in-depth workshops, the congress programme offered many keynote speeches by renowned speakers from companies such as BASF, Deutsche Bahn, SAP, Airbus and Siemens. The companies gave the attendees interesting insights into their solutions and plans for more sustainability. “In business and industry, more and more aspects of sustainability have to be taken into account and evaluated in terms of costs, especially with regard to profitability. For this purpose, we are currently implementing numerous new features in our costing software that cover these needs,” says Mr Schöffer about the current further development of 4cost’s costing solutions. “We are pleased that the urgency to take action regarding the issue of sustainability has been clearly expressed by all participants,” adds Arnd Schüller.
On the second day of the event, Joachim Schöffer moderated the panel on “Opportunities through the regionalisation of the manufacturing footprint and supply chain – in the context of global supply chains and geopolitical risks”, which included Airbus, BASF and Schaeffler. Here, the focus was on the question of whether availability or costs are more decisive for sustainability decisions. The panellists discussed, for example, the pros and cons of regional production under the current prevailing conditions.
As part of the Sustainability Congress, the Operations Sustainability Award was introduced. The jury awarded the most innovative concepts, initiatives and companies in three categories. The award winners included EnBw, Deutsche Bahn, BMW, Bosch and Miele.
4cost would like to thank all participants of the Sustainability Congress 2022 for the inspiring exchange. We look forward to participating again next year.
