4cost as an exhibitor at the Procurement Conference 2024
The 25th Procurement Conference took place on 23 and 24 September 2024 at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin. The annual event provides a platform for the exchange of information, experiences and best practices in the areas of public procurement law, process optimisation in purchasing and logistics as well as digital procurement/e-procurement for public administration.
This year, over 300 participants came together, including representatives of public institutions, purchasing and procurement experts and providers of procurement solutions and services. 4cost participated as an exhibitor for the first time to present the latest costing solutions in the areas of lifecycle costing (LCC) and sustainability (carbon footprint calculation).
The key topics of the Procurement Conference included:
- Geopolitics and procurement strategy
- Social responsibility and sustainability
- Digital transformation and future technologies
- Work environment, automation and AI
- Public procurement law, market and competition
Joachim Schöffer, Managing Partner of 4cost GmbH, and Arnd Schüller, Head of Sales, were present to show participants how essential a thorough lifecycle costing is for sustainable procurement. “Instead of focussing only on the purchase price, LCC also includes costs for operation, maintenance, energy consumption and disposal. This enables a more comprehensive assessment of the economic and environmental impact of procurement decisions. By taking lifecycle costs into account, public administrations can make more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly decisions in the long term. This not only promotes sustainability, but can also lead to significant savings,” explains Mr Schöffer. “In addition, LCC supports the achievement of political goals in the area of environmental and climate protection by favouring the procurement of products with lower resource consumption and lower emissions.”
We would like to thank all interested parties and look forward to in-depth discussions about the use of our costing software and possible collaborations.
