Lake Constance Mobility Supplier Summit 2022

On 4 and 5 May, industry leaders, innovators, global buyers, designers, tier 1-3 suppliers and OEMs from the automotive industry met in Friedrichshafen for the 5th Lake Constance Mobility Supplier Summit. The event, organised by the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management in cooperation with ZF, focused on the exchange of ideas, know-how and best practices on the topics of future mobility, sustainability, supply chains and innovation.

As an expert for software-supported cost optimisation, 4cost was present on site as an exhibitor. The topic of cost efficiency – especially in correlation with sustainability – affects all industrial sectors, so that innovative solutions, such as 4cost’s costing software, are cutting-edge.

The conference featured exciting keynotes and discussion panels with ZF, MAN, Siemens, Microsoft, AGCO, Volvo, VW and many more. Among other things, the continuing uncertainty in the supply of purchased parts was addressed. The companies provided insights into their strategies to counter the material shortages. Equally interesting were the approaches presented by the industry to increasingly incorporate the aspect of sustainability into all areas of value creation.

Intensive discussions and exchanges took place in various workshops, which were held in smaller groups over the course of two days. Under the moderation of Joachim Schöffer, the managing partner of 4cost GmbH, the advantages of a successful transformation were highlighted. “Innovation entails transformation and transformation always requires innovation at the same time,” summarised Mr Schöffer.
